Tad Gear Titanium Dog Tags Knife
Jerzeedevil Dog Tags from Tadgear! This things are awesome. This run of the JD Titanium Dog Tags are the version 3.0 design recently released, and were commissioned for us by John Barker, knifemaker and fellow devil.
The dog tags are made of titanium, with one peice which is sharpened. They are useful as a last resort edged tool for cutting stuff. I haven’t actually used mine to cut, but I don’t think it would be the easiest to use. It is pretty sharp, however.
They are made completely in the USA, and there is a double detent which allows the the dog tags to lock open, and makes sure the inside surfaces don’t rub against each other. One thing I did find a bit finnicky was that you have to sort of adjust the tension in the pivot before using it and tighten it before locking it down, making it somewhat awkward to use.
The mil-spec stainless steel ball chain that comes with it is alright, and it actually came with two of the chains, with a mini chain shown in the pictures, allowing it to be chained onto a zipper or used as a keychain.
I am thinking about having my name engraved on the inside, but haven’t yet. I am secretly looking forward to a situation where I can use it… since it looks like it would be fun to try. They are actually manufactured by Zero Tolerance Knives/Kershaw.
Length: 1 1/2″
Material: Titanium
Pivot Material: Aluminum

I think these ones are made by Tadgear, if you get some elsewhere they wouldn’t be quite the same.

TadGear seems to be perpetually out of these.. they have these manufactured for them directly so you might want to email them to ask as they would know better than I as to future availability.
